Process of E-Notarization of Powers of Attorney in UAE
If you are a signatory of a Power of Attorney and unable to visit Notary Public in the UAE, you may register the POA through e-notarization. We offer end-to-end assistance for the online notarization process for clients drafting POAs through us. The process is completed by following the below two (2) steps:
Step 1: Drafting and Translation
You need to select the required POA and fill out the applicable form on our website. We will subsequently provide you with a draft of the POA. You may request the POA to be amended upon receiving the draft. Once the amendments are completed and the final draft is approved by you, we will proceed with the Arabic translation.
Step 2: E-Notarization
We will arrange for you to communicate with a Notary Public officer via video conferencing using a mobile application called BOTIM. Your identification and the powers to be given on the POA will be verified over the video call. This process will take only a few minutes, and the notarization will be finalized upon providing the Notary Public with an OTP (One Time Password).
As the signatory, you will be required to have the following documents for the e-notarization of power of attorney in the UAE:
- Emirates ID: If you are a UAE resident, a valid Emirates ID will be required.
- Passport: If you do not have a valid Emirates ID, you will need to have a valid passport.
It must be noted that all Powers of Attorney that are notarized by the UAE Courts Notary Public are issued electronically by email. Moreover, these POAs are QR code verifiable. Hence, there are no physical hard copies of the Powers of Attorney.
